If you are doing a real shutdown, there should be nothing draining the power, like Windows Fastboot which uses some power.Дo you have any other things plugged in which may be using power? Usually power is disconnected when the OS shuts down.Д¬lick to expand.I had the same issue from my side (Battery drains when the laptop is off as if it's on even though the laptop was new (less than one month).) Have you tried checking the battery after one week to see if it has some charge or not? If your battery is only one to two years old, it should last longer than two to three weeks. If you have an MSI gaming notebook and the battery is bad, you'll need to contact MSI Support/Service for help. If this is the case, you'll need to disable this mode. If I'm not mistaken, Win 10 will use hibernate mode when you tell it to 'Shut down' if it's configured for 'fast startup'.

It will run down the battery faster than a full shut off but not as fast as sleep mode. There's also a hibernate mode which is in between sleep mode and a full shut off. The battery power will drain much faster in sleep mode and 2-3 weeks sounds normal. But part of the notebook is still running. What happens in sleep mode is the notebook goes into a low-power state where the display, SSD, HD and other components are suspended. However, if the notebook is put into sleep mode (which is what normally happens when you close the lid or tap the power button while the notebook is on), the notebook doesn't turn off.

This low-level system runs the EC firmware. Without this low-level active circuitry running in the background, nothing would happen when you press the power button to turn on the notebook. Many of the MSI hardware buttons (like the power button) are logic controls and they need active circuitry to recognize they've been pressed and respond accordingly. Generally speaking, the battery should not drain in just 2-3 weeks if the notebook is truly shut off.
